LEGO City 60402-1 Blue Monster Truck Retires Dec 31, 2026

LEGO City Blue Monster Truck, set 60402-1, is scheduled to retire on December 31, 2026. Released at the beginning of 2024 with 148 pieces, this compact blue off-road vehicle will reach the end of its listed retail lifecycle after nearly three years, giving City collectors a useful milestone to consider.

What has been the Blue Monster Truck's place in LEGO City?

Blue Monster Truck carries set number 60402-1 and belongs to the LEGO City theme. It launched on January 1, 2024, with a total of 148 pieces. That relatively compact build places it among the smaller vehicle-focused offerings in the broader City range, rather than large display models or extensive themed collections.

Its December 31, 2026 retirement date marks a commercial lifecycle of nearly three years. For collectors who follow LEGO product availability, considering the launch and retirement milestones together provides a clearer picture of where this particular vehicle sits in its release cycle.

What does this mean for collectors?

Blue Monster Truck may be relevant to collectors building a LEGO City vehicle collection. Its 148-piece scale gives it a distinct place as a compact standalone vehicle rather than a substantial construction project. The scheduled end-of-year 2026 retirement date also provides a practical reference point for tracking the set's place in the City lineup.

Existing owners can use this milestone to review how the vehicle fits into their collection. Those considering an acquisition can weigh their interest in the truck's design against their collecting priorities and the approaching end of its retail lifecycle. A retirement date does not mean every retailer will run out of stock simultaneously, so availability can vary between sellers.
